Autobiography:

Don Pongracz is the owner of Raven In the Moon. Don is from the Old Massett band. His Nation is Haida Gwaii. Don has been active in the Aboriginal movement since 1969 when he was a surveyor for the BC Association of Non-Status Indians (now the United Native Nations). Don is a Third Class power Engineer and was one of the people who worked to develop the Pacific Northwest Fisherman’s Coop, Port Simpson BC. In Castlegar he was one of the founding members of the Lower Columbia River All First Nations Counsel (LCRAFNC) a self-help group for off reserve Aboriginal people. He was responsible for the negotiation of the Human Resources Development Canada contract that led to the establishment of the LCRAFNC administering training and educational funding to Aboriginal people within the Castlegar Area. Currently Don is a program developer for the Aboriginal Apprenticeship and Industry Training, a division of the Secwepemc Cultural Education Society in Kamloops. Don spent three years at the Kootenay School of the Arts majoring in jewelry and design. He is a talented graphic designer.

Don's father was Alex Pongracz, he was the oldest and his grandfather was Alex Pongracz, who came to Canada from Budapest, and was shipped over some horses although Don isn't sure how many and when, it could be in someones memory bank over there. Pongracz's love children. Don's father had 9 - 4 boys and 5 girls but sadly passed away with two of the girls in a horrible accident when Don was 13. Grandfather Alex Pongracz had 13 children, 12 boys and one girl. Don has three, two girls and a boy. Willow Ann, his oldest has three girls, Bree-Ann, Jazmine and Zoe. Donny Jr. has one boy, brand new this October, named Jayden Don Pongracz.
